Whirlpool is the world’s largest manufacturer of consumer appliances with over 100,000 employees and more than 70 manufacturing and research facilities located across the globe. The Company began as a family concern in November of 1911 when Louis and Emory Upton began manufacturing motor-driven wringer washers. A series of mergers and acquisitions in the early 1900’s saw the company renamed Whirlpool in 1950 and the creation of the company’s first top-loading automatic washing machine. The company is also responsible for the development of freeze-dried ice cream, which was supplied to NASA astronauts during the Apollo missions.
Whirlpool offers three models of clothes dryers, two with a 6 kilogram load and one with an 8 kilogram load. The 8kg model offers excellent energy efficiency, with a 6 star rating, thanks to its efficient heat-pump condenser and drying sensors.
