It’s a wash up for Miele dishwashers

Miele has lived up to the hype, winning our ‘most satisfied customers – dishwasher’ category in our recent survey.

With a philosophy of ‘forever better’, Miele has proved the quality of its dishwashers, dominating the criteria we put to the test.

Our respondents were most satisfied with their Miele dishwasher in the areas of overall satisfaction, noise while operating, internal layout of the drawers and warranty and service. Miele also tied in first place in the criteria of performance and reliability, and design (including the appearance and finish of the machine). Electrolux and Dishlex tied for first place when it came to price.

The internal layout of dishwashers seemed to be a particular area of concern for those who completed our survey. Many people reported that their machines do not cater well for large dishes, bowls, pots and wine glasses. We can also see from the comments received, that respondents are concerned about the water and energy efficiency of their dishwashers, believing that they use too much of both.

Other areas of dissatisfaction were the amount of time it takes to do a load of dishes, not being able to stop a cycle and restart it again, and the quality of the clean that the dishwasher delivers, with many people saying it was not as good as they expected.

Our respondents also raised the issue of price, which is reflected in the results. However, there does seem to be an acceptance of a premium price by Miele customers in particular, with consumer comments that ‘quality has a price’.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results that come from buyers of dishwashers within the survey group. To qualify, the dishwasher has to have been bought within the last three years.
