Fisher & Paykel has top loader washing machine customers in a spin
Fisher & Paykel have taken out their second Canstar Blue award in quick succession, winning ‘most satisfied customers – top loader washing machines’ in our inaugural survey. The company tied in first place for the categories of price (with LG and Samsung), ease of use, noise and warranty (all with LG).
Scoring well across both top loader and front loader categories, Fisher & Paykel have clearly dominated the top loader results, scoring five stars in every criteria.
Fisher & Paykel have also just been awarded the most satisfied customers award for clothes dryers.
More than half of respondents surveyed said that energy efficiency is the most important factor for them when choosing a washing machine. Other factors that should be taken into consideration when choosing a machine are those that are causing dissatisfaction for our respondents. These include the noise made by washing machine during a cycle, and the length of time taken for a cycle to complete. Some of those people surveyed were also unhappy with the quality of clean that their machine provided, citing examples of detergent marks on clothes and washing coming out dirtier than it went in.
Respondents are also frustrated at machines that become unbalanced (needing intervention during a load), items getting stuck under the agitators, and clothes being tightly wound together following a cycle.
Fisher & Paykel have triumphed in overall satisfaction, followed by Samsung, LG and Whirlpool on four stars, and Simpson on three stars.

To qualify, the washing machine has to have been bought within the last three years.
Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
