New South Wales turns to Origin for five star rated natural gas

Our survey has recorded an impressive number of Australians investing in green gas – with one in five of respondents to our latest survey making the switch.

It seems that Generation Y respondents have also taken to heart the ‘save the planet’ message, as they’re even more likely to have green gas in their homes than Generation X and Baby Boomer respondents.

However, our survey also shows that Australian respondents fail to understand what eco-friendly gas options are, with a whopping 55% unsure of how to define green gas.

Origin tops our list of natural gas suppliers, receiving our most satisfied customers award for natural gas suppliers for New South Wales.

Origin also received five stars for billing and service. AGL and EnergyAustralia were also rated in this survey.

More than four in five New South Wales residents are concerned about more expensive energy bills due to the Federal Government’s carbon trading scheme.

The carbon tax was recently introduced by the Federal Government to deter reliance on fossil fuels. The debate surrounding this issue has raged for months, and many respondents to our latest survey (79%) are worried that more costly bills will impact their financial situation.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. Outcomes reported are the results from those within the survey group who have an active gas account, and regularly pay the bills.

Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.

Origin customers were most satisfied overall with their supplier, so the energy company received five stars. AGL and EnergyAustralia also performed well with four stars each.

Origin have the most satisfied customers for price and received three stars for this category, while both AGL and EnergyAustralia received two stars.

A good bill can be judged on the clarity of the charges and their accuracy for the sake of the customers, and Origin has the most satisfied customers when it comes to billing procedures. AGL received four stars for their own billing practises and EnergyAustralia received three.

Whether customers reached their supplier by telephone, email or in person, Origin was top of the range once more for service, with a five star rating. Both AGL and EnergyAustralia received four stars for their service.
