Victorians see Red Energy as top pick for electricity providers
In a state rife with energy companies vying for customer attention, Red Energy edged out the competition and have received our most satisfied customers award for Victorian electricity providers.
Our recent survey results show that Red Energy achieved a five star rating for overall customer satisfaction ahead of Lumo, TRUenergy, Energy Australia, AGL, Australian Power & Gas and Origin.
Our survey also showed that nearly one in five Victorian respondents cut back on household spending so they could continue to run their air conditioner.
Furthermore, more than two thirds of respondents admitted that they couldn’t sleep properly without the air conditioning during the summer months.
We also found that many respondents (54%) switched off appliances designed to run constantly in order to cut down on energy costs. Female Victorians were more likely than males (61% compared to 46%) to save on their electricity bill in this manner.
Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from Victorian customers of electricity providers within the survey group – in this case, 533 people. To qualify, the customer must have an electricity account and pay the bills. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.
Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
Red Energy led the pack with five stars for overall satisfaction, followed by Lumo with four. TRUenergy and Energy Australia both received three stars for this criteria, followed by Australian Power & Gas, AGL and Origin with two.
