Electrolux given the nod for Australia’s front loader washing machine of choice
Whether it be an effort to keep bills affordable or to help save the planet, Australian respondents to our latest survey stated that energy efficiency is the key selling point when purchasing a new washing machine.
An energy efficient washing machine can reportedly save customers $30 a year on their electricity bill, and a further $30 if they use the cold water wash.
With such substantial savings on offer, it’s little wonder that 87% of front loader customers declared their key consideration was energy efficiency when buying their new machine.
Customers concerned with the energy consumption of their appliances could switch off their washing machine at the outlet when not in use, or wash their clothes in cold water to reduce energy usage of their washing machine by 80-90%.
Customers weren’t solely concerned with saving money on the power bill though. We also found that a quarter of respondents reused the grey water from their washing machine loads rather than send it down the drain.
Our survey also revealed which front loader washing machine brand is a cut above the rest. Electrolux have won our most satisfied customers award for front loader washing machines in front of Samsung, LG, Bosch, Fisher & Paykel, Simpson and Whirlpool.
