Baby bottles scrutinised by wary mums and dads

Parents Pick Award - Baby Bottles - 2012Many mums and dads are protecting their kids from potential gastric discomfort by choosing their baby’s bottle carefully, according to our recent customer satisfaction survey of Australian parents.

These results show that almost half (48%) of parents purchased baby bottles specifically designed to help reduce wind and colic.

Feeding time wasn’t all about the hard choices though, with nine out of ten parents agreeing it was a great way to get other loved ones such as siblings and grandparents involved with their baby.

The survey also looked at customer satisfaction with baby bottles and teats. Happy Baby Bottles received our award for this category ahead of Tommee Tippee, Phillips Avent, Nuby Cups and Coles Brands (which included Smart Buy and Coles own brand).

Several brands really made their mark on our results:

  • Happy Baby achieved five star ratings for overall satisfaction, value for money, quality of bottle seals, ease of sucking for babies, ease of cleaning and ease of filling.
  • Avent received five stars for the size of their bottles and the ease of seeing the measurements on the bottle’s side.
  • Nuby also received a five star rating for the size of their baby bottles.

Canstar Blue regularly commissions leading independent research specialists Colmar Brunton to survey Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction.

These results power Canstar Blue’s Customer Satisfaction Awards in which products and services are rated based on the experiences of consumers who have used them.

These baby bottle ratings are part of the Parent’s Pick Awards which surveyed 1500 Australian parents and cover a number of categories. The outcomes reported are the results from parents who had purchased baby bottles in the last three months in the survey group, in this case, 801 people. Brands had to have received at least 30 responses to be included.

Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
