^ As of 1 March 2013 Spreets no longer offer Spreets deals, instead they are an aggregator of deals from other websites. At the time of release, some Spreets vouchers will still be within their validity period and the results reported are from those people who had purchased Spreets branded deals.
Returning in droves: One in two group buying customers become regulars
Businesses enlisting the assistance of group buying websites to sell their wares convert a significant number of buyers into regular customers, according to the results of our survey on Group Buying Websites. Nearly half (46%) of our respondents have purchased a voucher from a group buying website and since become a regular client of their provider.
While fans of Group Buying Websites recognise that value is there for the taking, the number of customers who neglected to redeem their voucher has increased in the past year from 27% to 37%. The demographic most likely not to do so were younger respondents: more Generation X and Y respondents (47% and 46% respectively) did not redeem their vouchers than Baby Boomers (27%).
Whether they used these offers or not, nearly two thirds of respondents told us they loved getting emails and newsletters from their group buying website – agreeing that “It’s like browsing the junk mail from the comfort of my inbox.”
Cudo charm customers for the second year in a row
Eighty percent of respondents considered a group buying voucher they purchased to be ‘exceptional value’, and even more (90%) would buy from a group buying website again. With an increasing number of Group Buying Websites popping up, the question becomes, which group buying service is most deserving of these return visits?
Cudo has once again achieved our Most Satisfied Customers Award – Group Buying Websites – winning two years in a row in this category.
With five star ratings in all but one rated criterion, Cudo was the clear victor in this year’s awards. Also rated were Living Social, Scoopon, Spreets, Our Deal and Groupon.
Living Social emerged at the top of the list in two key areas: receiving five stars for the quality of its goods / services on offer, and for value for money. Groupon also achieved a five star rating for value for money.
Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to regularly survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction.
