New cars need a little tender loving care to stay at their best, and that means regular servicing and troubleshooting. Your manufacturer is most likely the best candidates to take care of this for you, as they know the vehicles from top to bottom, but which ones are customers most satisfied with in terms of after sales service?
To find out, we surveyed new car owners from around the country, and asked them to review their satisfaction with their manufacturer’s customer service post-sale. Ford was the award-winner in this regard, finishing with five stars for after sales service.
Also rated were four star recipients Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Suzuki, Holden, and Mitsubishi; and three star recipients Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, and Volkswagen.
How we rated new cars
Canstar Blue commissioned Colmar Brunton to survey 5,000 Australian drivers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who have bought a brand new car from a dealership in the last three years – in this case, 1,805 Australians.
Each brand must have received at least 30 responses in order to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey.
