Ford is #1 for customer satisfaction in 2014
It was once again a competitive battle for the top spot in our new car satisfaction awards. In many categories, different manufacturers proved they have the right stuff. However, Ford was the only brand to secure five stars for overall customer satisfaction in these results: earning the top prize for 2014.
And it wasn’t as if Ford was matched against lightweights either. Receiving four stars were well known names: Subaru, Honda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, and Holden. Next with three stars each for overall satisfaction was Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Kia. Ford went toe-to-toe with them all and came out in fine form.
So what can customers expect from Ford in 2015?
Anyone who grew up several decades past would have seen Ford’s legendary American muscle car – the Mustang – immortalised in celluloid in movies like Gone in Sixty Seconds, and Bullit. In 2015, the legend will reach our shores – sporting an EcoBoost engine to keep this muscle car fuel efficient. Also on their way from overseas are the Everest – an SUV for four wheeling and city slicking alike – and the new Mondeo – for everything in between.
Ford Falcon’s Swan Song
The FG X will be the last production Ford Falcon to be designed and manufactured in Australia, and it’s going out with a bang. Customers across the country will be able to purchase these cars as a six cylinders, eight cylinder, turbo, non-turbo, manual or automatic – the variants are enough to make any car-lover drool.
It will also, sadly, be the last year Ford Falcon participates in the V8 Supercar Championship series, so get your tickets for the Bathurst 1,000 early!
More great technology
Need help on your hill starts? Ford has technology built into certain cars to set you off without the rollback. Don’t know if someone’s in your blind spot? Ford has a sensor for that. Can’t stand reverse parking? Your car can manage that on its own. Sure, many manufacturers have similar technology, but it’s still great to see Ford stay on the cutting edge.
How we rated new cars
Canstar Blue commissioned Colmar Brunton to survey 5,000 Australian drivers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who have bought a brand new car from a dealership in the last three years – in this case, 1,805 Australians.
Each brand must have received at least 30 responses in order to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey.
