Point of Sales Service Award WinnersBuying a car can be stressful. While driving is stressful enough sometimes, for the purchase you need to make a decision that will affect you for years to come. What kind of car works best for your needs? Can you afford the financing? Is this model safe?

While we think it’s best to always go into a car shopping situation having done your homework beforehand, it’s unrealistic to expect most Australian drivers to know the intricacies and finer details about any given vehicle – even if we think we do!

Great point of sales service can put the common customer at ease, arm the customer with knowledge about a new car they’re considering buying, and walk you through the sometimes lengthy path to purchase.

And which manufacturer are customers most satisfied with when it comes to point of sales service (from the dealership / manufacturer)? Well, two brands fit the bill in this year’s results: Ford and Honda. Both received five stars and our award in this category.

Next with four stars each was Subaru, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Holden, Hyundai, and Nissan; and three star recipients Kia, Suzuki, Mazda, and Volkswagen. Congratulations to both our award winners for 2014.

About this research

Canstar Blue commissioned Colmar Brunton to survey 5,000 Australian drivers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who have bought a brand new car from a dealership in the last three years – in this case, 1,805 Australians.

Each brand must have received at least 30 responses in order to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey.
