Our winner was Australian-owned Dririder, with the company scoring a perfect five stars for overall customer satisfaction to earn our award for motorcycle gloves.

Everyone has their own reasons for owning and riding a motorcycle, but if you’re anything like the 10% of Aussie bikers who feel “sexy” out on the roads, then you’ll be interested to read about our customer satisfaction ratings for motorcycle jackets.

A comfortable, protective jacket should be high on the list of priorities for any motorcyclist. If you can look great at the same time then even better, but safety and comfort should be foremost in your mind when choosing a jacket that’s right for you.

To get an idea of what Aussie bikers look for in a jacket and which brands they rate highest, we set about asking hundreds of them about their purchases. So when it comes to the most important factor behind their purchase decision, here’s what they told us:

This is the first year we’ve produced customer satisfaction ratings for motorcycle jackets and we’re pleased to announce that Dririder has taken out our award, with a hugely impressive set of results, scoring top marks in all criteria.

Value for money

Our survey found the average spend on motorcycle jackets is $356 – and for that sort of price you definitely want your money’s worth. Owners of a Dririder jacket certainly think they got value for money, with a top rating being awarded to this brand.


If you’re spending hours on the road, you’ll definitely want to feel comfortable in your clothes, so it’s a good idea to give serious thought to the comfort of your jacket, rather than just how it looks. Again, Dririder rated highest in this area.


Similarly to comfort, a well-fitting jacket is essential if you’re going to enjoy the thrill of motorcycle riding. Also from a safety perspective, it’s important your jacket fits in the way it is intended to. Survey respondents with a Dririder jacket think that this brand fits the bill.


Nobody wants any unfortunate encounters with the ground, but in the event that you do have an accident, you’ll be glad you had a jacket that keeps you well protected and helps reduce your chances of injury. Once again Dririder was rated highest in this area.


If you’re spending upwards of $300 on your motorcycle jacket, you’ll want it to be durable and last a decent length of time. This will naturally relate to how often you wear it, but once again Dririder excelled in this respect.


Your motorcycle jacket is ultimately there to protect you from potential hazards, but like anything else, you’ll want more than that for your money. Is your jacket adaptable to different weather conditions – be it hot or cold – and does it come with the pockets and flexibility you need? These are all things to consider and again Dririder scored a five-star rating.


If you are one of the 10 percenters who want to feel sexy out on the roads, chances are the style of your jacket will be a serious consideration. Canstar Blue commissioned I-view to survey 882 Australian motorcycle riders in order to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who have purchased a new motorcycle jacket in the last 18 months – in this case, 418 Australians.

Brands must have received at least 30 responses to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey. The ratings table is first sorted by star ratings and then alphabetically. A rated brand may receive a ‘N/A’ (Not Applicable) rating if it does not receive the minimum number of responses for that criteria.
