St George was founded in 1937 as a housing based financial institution.
In 2009, to support St.George's strategy of providing more responsive, tailored and personalised service to its customers and the communities it serves, the Bank implemented a new geographically based management structure, with dedicated Managing Directors appointed to run St.George's operations in each State.
