Consumers say they can’t go wrong with Nikon
* Overall satisfaction is an individual rating and not a combined total of all ratings
Nikon Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) owners are the most satisfied, scooping the pool in a recent consumer survey by Canstar Blue.
Nikon dominated the results of a survey of buyers of a new DSLR purchased in the past two years, and was awarded five stars in every criteria including the most important – overall satisfaction.
Across the board, satisfaction was very high across all brands surveyed, with the results supported by comments from the majority of respondents who did not dislike anything about their DSLR. All brands scored at least three stars, or six out of 10, in each category.
Some respondents commented on the bulk of the DSLR camera, and the cost of purchasing additional lenses.
The lowest satisfaction scores were recorded for price; however again, scores remained reasonably high.
The DSLR market is growing as users of compact cameras are looking for more value for money and DSLRs become more affordable and easier to use.
Canstar Blue commissions professional market research company, Colmar Brunton, to survey 2,500 Australians across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results that came from buyers of DSLRs within the survey group. To qualify, the camera has to have been bought within the last three years.
Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
