Yes, vegemite taps into the national Australian psyche, but jam remains a popular spread for Aussies. When it comes to the flavour of jam we prefer, there is a clear winner: strawberry.
According to Canstar Blue’s most recent research of 1,600 Australian consumers, strawberry jam is the favourite flavour for a full 42% of us, including 54% of 18 to 29 year olds. Raspberry jam was a fairly distant second-favourite at 20% of the market, with Apricot jam rounding out the top three at 11%.
Other not-so-favoured flavours include:
- Blackcurrant 7%
- Plum 6%
- Blueberry 5%
- Marmalade 3%
