What are the tastiest weight loss shakes?

Losing weight is notoriously difficult, so any help you can get is a good thing. That may mean employing the services of a former military officer turned personal trainer who can scream words of encouragement – and fear – at you, or it could involve the use of weight loss shakes (also known as diet shakes or meal replacement shakes).

Weight loss shakes can be a good way to change your eating habits and slim down in the short-term, but only if they are used properly. That means replacing meals with shakes, not consuming them in addition to your regular meals. This is an easy and common mistake that dieters make – often resulting in weight gain, rather than weight loss.

It can be easy to fall off the wagon and eat more food than you planned to, particularly if the diet shakes you consume are very bland and leave you unsatisfied. It’s natural to crave something that tastes nice and keeps your tastebuds interested, so which weight loss shakes taste best? Here is a guide to the many different brands of diet shakes you’ll find in your local pharmacy or supermarket, and the taste satisfaction ratings they were given by consumers in our 2015 survey of more than 700 adults.

Which should you try?

Most brands claim to keep you feeling fuller for longer and the word ‘delicious’ is bandied around all the time, but the chances are you’ll require a decent amount of willpower if you’re going to avoid eating more, or consuming more weight loss shakes, than you should.

Your chances of successfully trimming down will be improved if you have variety in your diet – which means trying all the different flavours available on whichever program you happen to be sticking to, as well as mixing up whatever standard meals you’re eating throughout the day. You might also find that trying several different brands of weight loss shakes keeps you interested and motivated, because not all chocolate or vanilla shakes taste the same.
