Australians love their pets. As with children of the human variety, it can be a challenge to feed them quality food with good nutritional content and a reasonable price tag.

While some owners have the time and the resources to prepare home cooked meals for their pets, others rely on packaged food, and their expectations in terms of quality are just as high.

We’ve surveyed pet owners across Australia to find the packaged dog and cat food with the most satisfied customers to help you keep your pet happy and healthy.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers of cat and dog food within the survey group - in this case, 548 people for cat food, and 770 people for dog food. To qualify, the customer must have bought packaged cat or dog food (wet or dry) in the past six months. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.

Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
