Compare some of the best cat food brands using our ratings comparison of cat food satisfaction.
Cats are ‘fine dining’ on organic and homemade meals
GRID_CAT_FOOD
* Overall satisfaction is an individual rating and not a combined total of all ratings
Some Aussie cats are dining in more style than some humans through offerings of both homemade and organic meals.
One fifth of the respondents to our recent survey said they feed their cat organic food – with Generation Y respondents three times as likely as Baby Boomers to go the organic route at twenty-one percent compared to just seven percent.
Similarly, some of the pet owners we surveyed were opting for homemade culinary creations. In fact, more than one in ten respondents regularly cooked meals for their cats.
But when you don’t have the time or energy to don the chef’s hat, what should you feed your furry little friend? Friskies should keep your cat purring with a host of five star ratings and our most satisfied customers award for cat food.
Our survey also looked at Purina, Dine, Whiskas and Fancy Feast.
Friskies was a standout victor, receiving five stars for overall satisfaction, value, nutritional value and the ‘pets eat it’ criteria. However, other surveyed brands performed exceptionally well also:
Purina received five stars for their nutritional value
Dine also scored five stars for nutritional value, and shared a five star rating with Whiskas for packaging options
Whiskas also received five stars for the ‘pets eat it’ criteria, which it shared with Fancy Feast
Our pet food survey also looked at dog food brands.
Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers of cat food within the survey group - in this case, 548 people. To qualify, the customer must have bought packaged cat food (wet or dry) in the past six months. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.
Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
Overall satisfaction
Friskies received five stars for overall satisfaction with their cat food product. However, they weren’t the only brand who performed well, with Purina, Dine and Whiskas all receiving four stars each. Fancy Feast followed with three stars.
Value for money
Friskies received another five stars for their value for money, while Purina, Dine and Whiskas received four each. Fancy Feast were awarded three stars for this criteria.
Packaging options
Both Dine and Whiskas received five stars for having the most satisfied customers for packaging options. Both Friskies and Purina received four stars for their packaging variety, while Fancy Feast scooped up another three stars.
Nutritional value
A long term bond is not uncommon between owners and pets, so looking after your cat’s diet should be of great importance. Luckily, cats everywhere are in for a treat, as three of our brands – Friskies, Purina and Dine – received five star satisfaction ratings for their nutritional value. Whiskas and Fancy Feast received four stars for this criteria.
Pets eat it
