Virgin Mobile launched in October 2000, partnering with Optus in an attempt by Richard Branson to shake up the telco industry in Australia. By 2006, Optus had taken full owner of Virgin Mobile Australia. Virgin Mobile retain their branding and "unique Virgin way of doing things".
Virgin Mobile is managed by CEO Peter Bithos. Peter joined Virgin Mobile Australia in 2006, responsible for strategy, regulatory, web and telesales areas, and steered the launch of Virgin Broadband before stepping into the CEO role in 2008.
Virgin Mobile offer a range of mobile phone plans including pre-paid plans, cap plans (post-paid), mobile phone devices (or handsets) and even offer wireless broadband packages.
