Everyone knows about ALDI. The supermarket chain has been in Australia since 2001, and has been undercutting the big two (Coles and Woolworths) ever since. But did you know ALDI also sells prepaid mobile phone plans? ALDImobile launched in March 2013, and since then ALDI’s prepaid plans have won awards for value and quality.
ALDImobile offers three types of plan; a pay as you go, value packs, and data packs. The pay as you go option is a long-lasting plan (365 days) that can be topped up with $15 or $30; that can then be used for calls, texts, and data. The value and data packs can be added onto the pay as you go plan. The value packs are more like standard pre-paid phone plans; there are five value packs ranging from $10 to $45, and the more money you spend, the more value you get (exponentially).
The data packs are just that. You can either pay $16.50 for 1.5GB or $30GB. The data packs can be used for something like a tablet, or added onto a pay as you go plan.
Other prepaid mobile plans service providers we surveyed
Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to regularly survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who currently have an active prepaid mobile phone account in their name and pay the bills – in this case, 714 people.
The other prepaid mobile plans service providers in this year’s survey are:
- Virgin Mobile
- Optus Mobile
