About CMobile mobile phone plans

CmobileCMobile is a young MVNO (mobile virtual network operator), established in 2013 by two ex-Vodafone employees after they’d worked in the field for many years. They’re one of the few companies who offer a choice of 3G service providers – Vodafone (Red plans) or Telstra (Blue plans).

CMobile’s goal is to provide simple products and a great deal. They don’t have a big marketing budget, so all their resources are going towards creating the best deal and the best customer service. The company is 100% Australian owned and operated, so any support you need is coming from professional Aussies working just around the corner from you.

At time of writing, all CMobile’s plans are post-paid and they bill customers at the end of each month. All plans are SIM-only and there is a $4.90 SIM fee when you sign up.

CMobile has been specifically recommended for certain types of customers:

  • Living in a rural area: This is a great way to get onto the Telstra 3G network (which has 99.3% coverage of Australia, the best rural coverage in the country) without paying a premium for it.
  • Not using your phone much: Why pay for credit that will expire before you ever get around to using it? CMobile’s cheap post-paid plans mean you only pay for what you use, and you don’t pay a whole lot. If you live in the city, WhatPhone data studies show that Vodafone actually has better coverage than Telstra, so this is the way to go.
  • Using more data than phone calls: If you spend more time looking at the browser on your phone screen than talking into your phone, CMobile offers stacks of data without paying for all the calls.

There are several price points for post-paid mobile phone plans with CMobile, detailed here below.
