Founded in England in 1982, Vodafone has gone through various name changes and business deals before finally sticking with Vodafone Group in 2000. It covers more than half the world, with a Vodafone signal found somewhere on every continent, except Antarctica.
The brand has been present in Australia since 1993 and for the most part has its own independent network. However, in some cities it does share towers and feeder stations (for its 3G network) with Optus.
In 2009, Vodafone and Hutchinson Telecommunications merged and kept the Vodafone name, moving a great deal of customers onto the Vodafone network.
What does Vodafone offer small businesses?
Vodafone business plans are very much focussed on keeping everyone connected on the go. Data is a huge feature, with a recent restructuring of its plans offering a shared data pool of varying allowances (it depends on the plan that you choose for your business). However, all plans offer infinite calls and text within Australia, as well as data to share across all devices.
Business specialists help to work out the best deal for your team, so there aren’t specific plans to choose from. There are a range of inclusions that can be added to suit specific needs of your business, which is great if you don’t want your business communications to be restricted by certain limits.
Plans with Vodafone are also available with or without a mobile phone, depending on if your business already has handsets or not. Vodafone offers the latest from Apple and Samsung to keep your business up with the times and on top of the latest smartphone technology.
There is a lot of freedom to choose with a Vodafone plan, so you are likely to get a good deal to suit your business, the telco says.
Vodafone scored an overall satisfaction rating of four stars from our survey of small business owners.
