About First National

The First National story begins in Victoria, where a group of rural real estate agents came together in 1981. These agents were all independent and concerned about the competition they faced from the big franchised real estate agencies.

From this meeting, the First National Group of Independent Real Estate Agents emerged and was officially incorporated on December 3, 1981. When the organisation began, it had four goals:

  • Satisfy the customers
  • Make a powerful network
  • Retain independence
  • Employ only the best agents

The organisation proved to be popular among real estate agents around Australia because of its goals and many became members of the First National Group of Independent Real Estate Agents. These agents went on to become very successful and First National saw a great deal of sales from their members.

From a small group of independents, a large network of businesses has sprung up on an international scale. Today, there are more than 400 real estate offices in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Vanuatu which sport the First National name and still retain their independence as a business.

In commercial real estate, First National has a history of more than 10 years and agents have worked together to develop strong skills in the area. Currently, Frist National commercial is a division that is exclusive to Australia, with the co-operative of commercial agents working all over Australia, in major cities as well as rural centers.

Whether it’s buying, selling, managing, or leasing a commercial property, a First National commercial agent will be able to sort it all out for you, the company says. The group prides itself on putting the customers first and providing all kinds of resources to assist in the buying, selling, or leasing of a property.

On top of customer-satisfying service, First National offers financing solutions for customers. The company has partnered with another independent – mortgage broking group AFG – to give a range of financial products that can help with property buying.
