Volkswagen takes pole position for reliability and performance
Motoring giant Volkswagen has proven itself a crowd pleaser for dependable vehicles, receiving our reliability and performance award for cars. The German-based car manufacturer was the only European brand to win one of our motoring awards this year.
Our latest survey shows that Australian Volkswagen drivers are more satisfied with their vehicle’s reliability and performance than customers of any other manufacturer.
The German company, made famous by their first car the Volkswagen Beetle, has a variety of vehicles with a fair amount of grunt. Their Golf MK6 GTI model has a 2.0L turbocharged engine and accelerates to 97 kilometres per hour in just over six seconds – hardly a car that slouches in the performance department.
Other car manufacturers rated were Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Subaru and Suzuki, who all received four stars for reliability and performance.
Holden, Ford and Nissan received three stars each in this category.
Canstar Blue commissioned Colmar Brunton to survey 7,500 Australian consumers over a number of months to measure their satisfaction across a range of products and services. The outcomes reported are the results from car purchasers within the survey group. To qualify, the customer has to have bought a new car from a dealership in the last three years.
Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
