Do you enjoy the crackling sound of a fireplace but don’t have the time, money or space to fit one at your place? Fret not, there’s a solution – fireplace heaters! Below, we cover everything you need to know about electric fireplaces and list some of the best models available on the market.
What’s a fireplace heater?
A fireplace heater, also known as an electric fireplace, is a type of electric heater that mimics a fireplace burning coal, wood, or natural gas. It can be plugged into a wall and run on a ‘flame effect’ without heat for atmosphere during dinner and also be used as an actual heater. There are also wall-mounted electric fireplaces. Electric fireplace heaters are often used as a substitute for conventional fireplaces or can be placed inside a traditional fireplace that can no longer be used for fires.
Do electric fireplaces really heat a room?
Yes, fireplace heaters can heat a room as they work exactly the same way as radiant and fan heaters to heat any space instantly. They typically use a fan to force out heat and warm your living space or sometimes use infrared panels as a heating source. Electric fireplaces can’t heat an entire home, but are fairly efficient at heating individual rooms in a home or apartment.
