Huggies nappies are a five star bundle of joy for parents

Most Satisfied Customers Award for Disposable Nappies - 2012When it comes to your baby, only the best will do and in the nappy stakes that means Huggies – who received our most satisfied customers award for disposable nappies in our recent survey.

Huggies delivered exceptional customer satisfaction ratings across nearly all of our rated criteria; ahead of substantial competition from BabyLove, ALDI Mamia, Snugglers, Woolworths and Coles.

However, our winning brand wasn’t the only high achiever of the bunch. ALDI Mamia took out a five star rating for their value for money, while BabyLove topped the charts for the comfort of their nappies and their ability to prevent leaks.

Results also showed a customer preference towards certain baby products, with nearly three quarters of Mums and Dads favouring convenience and price over environmental-friendliness when choosing a disposable nappy product to purchase.

Notably, younger respondents were more likely to consider the environment when they purchased nappies as 48% had tried eco-friendly nappies compared to just 23% of Baby Boomers.

A substantial number of people (17% of respondents) have bought nappies online, although it varied from state to state – in NSW 23% had ventured online for their nappy needs compared to 10% of Queenslanders and just 5% of South Australians.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to regularly survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from disposable nappy customers within the survey group – in this case, 737 people. To qualify, the customer must have purchased used disposable baby nappies in the last 6 months. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.

Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.

Overall customer satisfaction

Customers of Huggies disposable nappies were most satisfied with their brand overall, earning them a five star rating for this criterion. Next were four star recipients BabyLove, ALDI Mamia and Snugglers. Woolworths and Coles received three stars each for overall customer satisfaction.

Value for money

ALDI Mamia could not be beaten for the value for money of their nappies, earning them a five star rating. BabyLove followed with four stars for this criterion, then Huggies, Snugglers, Coles and Woolworths with three.

Ability to prevent leaks

Parents have a lot to contend with during baby’s first few years of life…including some sticky situations. Customers of both BabyLove and Huggies were most satisfied with their nappy product’s ability to prevent leaks, earning each brand a five star rating. Next were ALDI Mamia and Snugglers with four stars, then Coles and Woolworths with three.

Look and style

Many first time mums and dads struggle to choose the best nappy style for their baby, but some products make it for easy rookie parents. Huggies took out a five star rating for the look and style of their disposable nappies. Next were BabyLove, ALDI Mamia and Snugglers with four stars each; then Coles and Woolworths with three apiece.

Baby comfort

Five star comfort came in the form of BabyLove and Huggies nappies, with customers of both brands being most satisfied that their baby was comfortable and snug in their nappy. ALDI Mamia received four stars for this criterion, while Snugglers, Coles and Woolworths received three.
