ALDI laundry liquids sparkle and shine with Canstar Blue award

Most Satisfied Customers Washing Liquids 2012

Customers of ALDI laundry liquid are the most satisfied with their laundry liquid detergent, our survey results show.

ALDI received five star ratings for overall customer satisfaction, value for money, the quality of the clean, number of washes per pack, smell and the feel of clothes after a wash.

The survey picked up results for laundry detergent brands Earth Choice, Dynamo, Hurricane, Radiant, Omo and Cold Power.

We also found that Aussies may not be sporting the whitest whites, with more than one third of survey respondents not separating their coloured clothes from their whites when doing their laundry.

Generation X respondents (45%) were particularly fond of this washing shortcut.

While some customers appeared to take a casual approach to laundry, others proved much more cautious when choosing which products to purchase. One third of respondents took the time to check the phosphate or chemical levels of their laundry detergent before making the decision to buy.

The survey also looked at laundry powder customer satisfaction.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to regularly survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from laundry liquid detergent customers within the survey group – in this case, 662 people. To qualify, the customer must have purchased and used a laundry liquid in the last 3 months. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.

Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.

Overall satisfaction

ALDI was the squeaky clean victor for overall customer satisfaction, receiving five stars for this criteria. Earth Choice followed close behind with four stars; then came Dynamo, Hurricane, Radiant, Omo and Cold Power with three.

Value for money

ALDI customers were most satisfied with their detergent’s value for money, earning them five stars. Earth Choice followed ALDI with four stars for value for money; then Dynamo, Hurricane, Radiant, Omo and Cold Power with three.

Quality of clean

Whether it is a well-worn pair of jeans or a clean school uniform, freshly cleaned clothes can help you look your best. For the quality of clean delivered by their laundry liquid, ALDI received another five star rating; ahead of four star recipients Earth Choice, Dynamo, Radiant and Omo. Both Hurricane and Cold Power received three stars each.

Number of washes

ALDI was the top choice for customers wanting more washes per pack, earning five stars for this criteria. They were followed by four star recipient Earth Choice; and three star recipients Dynamo, Hurricane, Radiant, Omo and Cold Power.

Environmental friendliness

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Earth Choice triumphed for customer satisfaction with the environmental friendliness of their laundry liquid with a five star rating. ALDI received four stars and were followed by Dynamo, Hurricane, Radiant, Omo and Cold Power with three stars for this criteria.


Customers of Radiant and ALDI were most satisfied with the smell of their freshly laundered clothes, earning each brand five stars. These brands were followed by Earth Choice, Dynamo, Hurricane and Omo with four stars; then by Cold Power with three.

Feel of clothes after a wash

ALDI received five stars for the feel of clothes after a wash, followed by four star recipients Earth Choice, Dynamo, Radiant and Omo. Both Hurricane and Cold power achieved three star ratings for this criteria.
