Make space for this jam: Bonne Maman achieve our 2014 award
Along with a nice cup of tea, Australians love a nice slice of toast and jam early in the morning. We commissioned a survey to ask Australian shoppers which jam product they were most satisfied with overall, with Bonne Maman taking out top honours for 2014.
Bonne Maman is originally a brand from overseas, with each jam being derived from traditional French recipes. This brand went up against ALDI Brands, Anathoth, Roses, St. Dalfour, Beerenberg, Cottee’s, Coles Brands, IXL, and Woolworths Brands.
Stacked up against these brands, Bonne Maman performed excellently. This brand achieved five star ratings in all but one of our survey criteria: top scores for overall satisfaction, variety /range, taste, and packaging appeal.
Other five star awardees include ALDI Brands for value for money, and Anathoth for jam taste.
How we rated jam
Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to regularly survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who have purchased and eaten jam from a supermarket (i.e. not homemade or purchased from a market) in the last month – in this case, 1,418 shoppers.
Each brand must have received at least 30 responses in order to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey.
