ReAmped, ReAmped HandshakeAvailable in: NSW, QLD
Why do we think this deal is worth knowing about?
ReAmped is a new energy retailer that has branded itself as “Australia’s first all online retailer,” meaning that it is in support of tech-based communications rather than call centres. What does this mean? It means that instead of picking up the phone to ask questions about your plan, you’ll instead hop online and ask the live chat on the ReAmped website. Not only that, but you’ll sign up online and manage your account and billing there, too.
The ReAmped Handshake is a slightly unusual deal, as it relies on customer loyalty for a year in order to be eligible to sign up. But here’s the weirdest part, this is a no lock-in contract plan, meaning it’s just your word (or handshake) upholding the deal. Upon agreeing to this set of conditions, customers will be able to access higher rates than available on its other plan, Anytime. At the time of writing, ReAmped’s Handshake plan is the cheapest on our database in both NSW and QLD, which is exactly why we’re featuring it this month.

Anything I need to know about?
When it comes to ReAmped, you’ll really just have to make sure you’re comfortable with their main shtick- the online thing. This retailer really wants to stress that their business model works best on the internet, with e-billing and e-communications in place to keep costs low for them, which ReAmped then passes on to its customers through low rates.
For the Handshake deal specifically, it is worth mentioning that you’ll be expected to stick around for a year, even without the lock-in contract. Though, without any exit fees, you can still choose to leave before that period if you find the online set up and monthly billing too difficult to manage.
How does this deal compare to others?
In the game of energy there can only be one winner. Only kidding- but there are some plans on offer in each state offering some winning value.
