MyRepublic offering discounted PS4s and Fortnite bundles

Parents of Fortnite-addicted kids might want to look away now.

Internet service provider MyRepublic is offering bonus Fortnite goodies as part of its ‘Gamer’ plan series.

Customers who sign up can get $200 off the PlayStation 4 (PS4) 500GB Fortnite bundle. It includes a 500GB PS4, plus a bonus Fortnite ‘Royale Bomber’ outfit skin and 500 V-Bucks, which is the in-game currency.

This package is ordinarily worth $439.95 and the voucher is included for customers who order a ‘Gamer Pro’ plan on a 12-month term.

The plans cost $79.99 a month for unlimited data on the NBN Standard Plus (NBN 50) speed tier, or $94.99 a month for unlimited data on the NBN Premium (NBN 100) speed tier.

MyRepublic said it aims to be not just a broadband provider, but an entertainment provider as well.

“MyRepublic is always on the lookout for partnerships that help our subscribers realise the full potential of our super-fast, uncapped internet service,” explained Bridget Devlin, MyRepublic’s Head of Marketing in Australia and New Zealand.

“Since launch we have worked with Sony Interactive Entertainment to add additional value to our Gamer network.

“We are very excited to be able to offer new MyRepublic Gamer customers the ability to access the new PlayStation 4 500GB Fortnite Bundle at an amazing low price.”

The plans also include unlimited calls to Australian landlines, a static IP address and an AC1600 Wi-Fi hub attracts just a $1 upfront fee.

The Fortnite bundle discount code can be redeemed via the Sony Store online and can be redeemed between 3 August and 3 October 2018.

The total minimum cost over 12 months would be $960.88 for 12 months of the Gamer Pro Essential plan, plus $239.95 for the discounted PS4 and Fortnite bundle.

What other providers offer broadband and entertainment?

MyRepublic is unique in the sense it is the only internet provider to offer specific ‘gaming plans’ along with discounts for PlayStations and games.

Previous MyRepublic discounts included things like virtual reality headsets as well as gamer mouses. Other providers to offer broadband and entertainment include:

  • Telstra – ‘Foxtel by Telstra’ with the Entertainment & Sports package from $129 a month.
  • Foxtel – Broadband and Entertainment packages from $104 a month.
  • Optus – Broadband, Fetch and Optus Sport from $90 a month.

A few other providers also include bonuses such as data-free Netflix, up to a year’s worth of free Netflix and other streaming options from time to time.
