Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2 Preview: What to Expect and How to Watch

It’s official — Game of Thrones Season 8 is here and the first episode is a record-breaker, pulling in 17.4 million viewers in the US across multiple airings and on-demand streaming. Now that Episode 1 has aired, we’ve got a sneak peek from HBO of what we can expect in Episode 2, and it looks like a big one.

Be warned if you haven’t watched Season 8, Episode 1 yet — this post is dark and full of spoilers.

What can we expect in Episode 2?

HBO has released the official trailer for Episode 2. So if you’re all caught up, you can check out the preview video below.

Episode 1 might have been a bit of a slow burn, but with Jon and Daenerys arriving in Winterfell, it very much set the tone for many of our favourite characters meeting for the first time – not to mention a lot of tearful and tense reunions.

From the way Episode 1 finished, there’s no doubt that the most anticipated moment will be the reactions to Jaime Lannister’s arrival, especially from Bran (considering the last time these two characters met, Jaime pushed Bran out of a window). Although now that Bran is the Three-Eyed Raven, perhaps there won’t be any hard feelings? The same might not be said about Dany’s feelings towards him, though.

If you felt like the first episode needed more thrills, from the looks of Episode 2, the action is coming. Most likely we’ll see the preparations in Winterfell before the army of the dead arrives, and perhaps the actual battle will start in Episode 3. Of course with Jon finding out his true identity in Episode 1, it will be really interesting to see if and when Jon decides to divulge this information, not to mention what the fallout will be.
