If you’re looking to bundle your home entertainment with your home internet, Telstra is a one-stop-shop for broadband, streaming and pay TV. And for a limited time, the telco is running two money-saving promotions for new and existing customers – offering free Foxtel Now with internet and Telstra TV plans, and cutting prices on Kayo Sports streaming.
Telstra’s free Foxtel Now offer
Thinking about Foxtel, but want to avoid the hassle of installation or a lock-in contract? Sign up to an eligible Telstra broadband plan (or activate Telstra TV), and you’ll receive a free three months of Foxtel Now, Foxtel’s live and on-demand streaming service. You’ll get unlimited access to all content available on Foxtel Now, with no obligation to continue subscribing after your three month trial.
Valued at over $300 in total, Telstra’s Foxtel Now offer is available to new home internet customers on plans of $75 per month or higher – for NBN customers, this includes Telstra’s Core, Essential, and Premium plans, as listed in the table below. Once your Telstra internet service has been fully provisioned, you have until 31 May, 2020 to redeem your free Foxtel Now offer online through Telstra’s customer hub.
The following table shows all published Telstra NBN plans on Canstar Blue’s database, listed in order of standard monthly cost, from the lowest to highest, and then by monthly data. Use our comparison tool to see plans from a range of other providers. This is a selection of products with links to a referral partner.
Telstra’s three-month Foxtel Now offer consists of the standard Essential pack, as well as all Premium and Specialty packs including Sport, Drama Extra, Movies, Docos, and Kids – $104 per month of value. Altogether, you’ll have access to more than 1,000 on-demand movies, over 1,000 hours of kids’ television, dozens of entertainment channels, and 12 sports-only channels.
After your free period is up, you’ll automatically be switched to Foxtel Now’s Essentials package and charged $25 per month ongoing. However, you’re free to cancel your subscription before the end of the offer period, or switch to a different Foxtel Now pack of your choosing.
New and existing Telstra customers can also claim the three-month Foxtel Now deal by activating a Telstra TV account, either bundled in with broadband or on a stand-alone plan. To score three months free, you’ll need to redeem the offer through Telstra’s customer hub by 30 April, 2020.
Priced at $219 outright, or from $9 monthly over 24 months, Telstra TV is the company’s all-in-one set top box that offers easy access to not only Foxtel Now, but also Netflix, Stan, Kayo and Hayu (subscriptions required), as well as free-to-air and catch-up TV and Telstra TV Box Office. If you’d like to combine Telstra TV with your broadband plan, packages begin at $84 monthly for 500GB of data, or $99 per month for unlimited.
Kayo Sports price cut for Telstra customers
Kayo is the Netflix of Australian and international sports, featuring thousands of hours of live and catch-up action from codes and games across the world. If you’re a Telstra postpaid customer, you can grab a $10 monthly discount on Kayo Basic and Premium subscriptions for a full 12 months, just by signing up through Telstra (and just in time for the 2020 NRL and AFL seasons).
Normally $25, the Basic pack is now available for $15 per month for Telstra postpaid customers, and includes high-definition streaming on up to two screens simultaneously. If you’re interested in the $35 Premium plan, you can sign up for $25 per month through Telstra, and watch on up to three screens.
Both plans feature a $10 per-month discount for the first 12 months of your subscription, after which you’ll revert to standard monthly pricing. To claim Telstra’s exclusive offer, you’ll need to be on an eligible postpaid Telstra plan, and must sign up through Telstra and redeem the deal by 30 June, 2020. This offer is not available to prepaid customers, or those on small business postpaid plans.
If you’re interested in Kayo, but you’re not a current Telstra customer (and don’t plan to be!), you can still sign on for a 14-day free trial. Simply follow the links below to start streaming.
