Amaysim is adding even more value to its data-packed prepaid phone plans, launching three new BYO deals for new and existing customers. Some plans see the data allowance doubled!
The popular telco – which offers no-contract, SIM-only plans, plus a basic pay-as-you-go service – has revamped its Unlimited plans at the $30, $40 and $50 price points. Two of these plans will now include twice as much high-speed data each month than previously available, including a massive 40GB on the $50 plan. The new plans are as follows:
- $30 Unlimited plan: includes 10GB of data (was 5GB)
- $40 Unlimited plan: includes 20GB of data (was 15GB)
- $50 Unlimited plan: includes 40GB of data (was 20GB)
All three plans also include unlimited standard talk and text in Australia, plus unlimited standard international calls to China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, and USA. If you opt for the $50 plan, you’ll also get an additional 300 minutes of calls to a further 22 countries.
Amaysim’s existing $10 and $20 Unlimited plans will remain unchanged, meaning customers will still have an array of data and price options to choose from. As Amaysim’s unlimited plans are all contract-free, customers have the freedom to switch from plan to plan as their data needs change, without incurring fees or penalties – and can make changes directly from the Amaysim app.
Amaysim: more data, more value
Amaysim attributes the changes to the increased use of mobile data among Australians. For many mobile users, the standard 2GB per month just doesn’t cut it anymore: we want to stream music, update Instagram, and watch YouTube anywhere, anytime. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, smartphone data use increased by 49% between December 2016 and December 2017.
Fortunately for data-hungry Aussies, Amaysim’s new plans offer plenty of monthly gigabytes at competitive prices (and don’t require a long-term commitment or new phone purchase).
Commercial Director of Mobile at Amaysim, Mark Retzlaff, acknowledged the demand for more data, as well as a need for flexible plan options.
“We know that Aussies increasingly love using their data, so if it’s streaming their favourite TV shows, connecting with love ones, or swiping right, we’re giving our customers just what they need at a great, non-promotional price. Whether customers need 1GB or 40GB of data, they can change plans as many times as they like, in a matter of seconds, using our app – at no extra cost.” Mr Retzlaff said.
As Amaysim’s plan changes are not promotional, or a limited-time deal, they’re a great option for customers in need of a high-value plan that doesn’t come with strings attached. The new 40GB plan offers excellent value for money, with only Lebara Mobile’s 40GB, $49.90 Extra Large plan coming close. However, Lebara only offers 40GB of data for your first month, with all subsequent recharges limited to 30GB.
As Amaysim is a SIM-only provider, you’ll need to bring your own phone to the telco’s Unlimited plans; but again, this gives customers the freedom to switch devices as needed, and avoid being locked in to a 24-month contract.
