Vodafone is offering prepaid customers a year-long bonus data deal this Christmas time.

For a limited time, Vodafone Prepaid Combo customers who connect or recharge on the $40 (or higher) Combo product before January 26 and continue to recharge each time before their expiry date will receive a bonus 2GB of data every time they top-up their account.

For example, if you recharge with the $40 Combo, you’ll receive 5GB of data instead of 3GB, which will equate to a massive 26GB of bonus data spread across 13 recharges over the next 12 months.

This bonus data offer is on top of what Vodafone calls the great value already included in its Prepaid Combo recharges, including unlimited standard national calls and texts, as well as standard international minutes to selected countries, or unlimited international calls to 10 countries depending on your recharge value.

General Manager of Products, Stephen Smyth, claimed the offer shows Vodafone values its customers. “We know how much our customers enjoy our fast 4G speeds, and we thought what better way to delight them than with a data boost,” said Mr Smyth.

Mr Smyth said the bonus data isn’t just about incentivising people to switch, but rewarding customers for choosing Vodafone every time they recharge.

“Telcos are often accused of only offering the best deals to new customers and this is something we want to change,” he said. “This offer is proof in the pudding that you don’t have to be a new customer to score a great offer at Vodafone. We want our customers to know we value their loyalty, every time they recharge.”

Canstar Blue research found that prepaid mobile users spend an average of $29.95 per month, with consumers aged 18-29 spending the most at $37.34.

Vodafone’s Prepaid Combo bonus data is available until January 2017 for customers who recharge or sign-up to $40, $50 or $60 Combo on or before January 26, 2016. To be eligible for the bonus, customers must recharge before their expiry date and on eligible recharges. See the Vodafone website for further details.
