20 Aussie swimwear brands to try this summer

Was it just me, or did that winter drag on for a little bit too long? Struggling out of bed in the freezing cold mornings, I would find myself cursing Jon Snow. But finally we can scrap those #winteriscoming memes and say no Jon, #summeriscoming. The sun is out, the ocean is calling our name – and there’s a long, hot summer on the horizon. No Aussie summer would be complete without the perfect pair of togs, and with some of the greatest beaches in our own backyard, it should come as no surprise that we are home to some of the best swimwear labels and designers in the world.

In no particular order, we’ve compiled a list of 20 different and unique home-grown Aussie swimwear designers and brands to keep your eye out for this summer.

Infamous Swim

This cute little mother-daughter Aussie brand is for “girls who want to be like their Mumma and for the Mum whose daughter is her everything”. With a heavy focus on body positivity, Infamous Swim features a huge range of swimwear for all shapes and sizes and similar sets for children and mothers. We love!

Funky Trunks

Boys should be able to make big statements with their swimwear too! With Funky Trunks, they definitely can. Just like the name suggests, this Aussie label is all about blinding neon colours and patterns – but are also designed for serious athletes. They have been adapted by national and Olympic swimmers, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pop a pair on to lie on the beach!

If the name wasn’t enough to give it away, Funkita is the sister brand of Funky Trunks – created a few years after the original brand’s incredible success. Designed by athletes, the brand places emphasis on their long-lasting, comfy style of swimsuit providing support no matter how vigorous the workout. If you’re anything like me and your summer workout revolves around sipping a cocktail by the pool, hey at least you’ll be comfortable.
