From its humble comic-strip beginnings, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has dominated popular culture since the first films were released in 2008, culminating in one of the most enjoyable movie series epics ever! There is more to Marvel than meets the eye, however, and there is a wide range of Marvel movies, series and animated shorts which are available to stream online. But where exactly can you stream Marvel content in Australia? Canstar Blue finds out.

How to watch Marvel in Australia

After being acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2009, Marvel Entertainment is a subsidiary of Disney. This means that Marvel content is streamed exclusively on the Disney+ platform.

Marvel on Disney+

Disney+ has been the official streaming platform of Marvel movies and television shows since the service was launched back in late 2019. Disney+ now streams the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe catalogue, from the Phase 1 movies such as Captain America and Ironman, all the way through to the recently announced Phase 4 titles such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki – all of which trailers were recently released for.

What Marvel content is coming to Disney+?

With the Marvel universe constantly evolving and expanding, what new titles and characters can we expect to see hitting Disney+ in the (hopefully) not too distant future? Well, in addition to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki all expected to be released in the next year or so, Marvel are also expected to add movies such as Black Widow, The Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (once they’ve done their run in the cinemas), along with TV series What If…?, Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel – although don’t hold your breath, most of these will likely come along in 2021 or later. Still, something to look forward to, right?

Is Marvel still available on Stan?

As Disney+ has become the brand’s official streaming platform in Australia, Marvel movies and television shows are no longer available on Stan.
