If you’re on a budget, the Westinghouse WRF610WA is the cheapest fixed rangehood available from the brand. The Westinghouse 60cm Fixed Rangehood is described as easy to install and clean, as well as simple to use due to the push button controls which allow you to choose between three different fan speeds. This model can also be recirculated into the kitchen if you’re unable to duct the Westinghouse rangehood to the exterior.

  • Maximum airflow: 200 m3/hr
  • Measurement (WxDxH): 598mm x 500mm x 160mm
  • RRP: $149*

Plus, the removable, dishwasher-safe filters and supposedly durable build of the unit apparently makes this Westinghouse rangehood easy to maintain.

This Westinghouse rangehood can be ducted or recirculated, with top and rear duct options as well as a front recirculating option available.

Slide-out rangehoods

A slideout design in rangehoods might be a feature to think about if you’re short on space or want to make the most of every square-inch of your kitchen, because it allows you to minimise the amount of room the rangehood takes up when it’s not in use. Slide-out rangehoods from Westinghouse usually retail from $299 up to $419. Models currently available include:

  • Westinghouse Slide-out Rangehood WRH908IW
  • Westinghouse Slide-out Rangehood WRH908IS
  • Westinghouse 60cm Slide-out Recirculating Rangehood WRR614SA

The Westinghouse 90cm Slideout Rangehood is claimed to serve some serious power with its apparent intuitive design and supposed high extraction rate. It contains two fans with three fan speed options, as well as washable twin filters that can be removed for cleaning. This 90cm Westinghouse slideout rangehood also has a top duct hole designed to send kitchen fumes outside the house, giving you another way to keep your space as clean and fresh as possible when cooking.

  • RRP: $509*

For a rangehood that’s as easy to use as making toast, consider the Westinghouse Slide-out Rangehood WRH908IW. The light and fan speed are designed to automatically operate when you slide the front trim forward, while the lack of external switches and controls apparently remove confusion and help make cleaning straightforward.

This white Westinghouse slide-out rangehood provides two fans with three fan speeds, and offers a front recirculation option if you’re not able to duct the appliance to the exterior of the house.

  • Maximum airflow: 400 m3/hr

However, these models are the most expensive in the brand’s entire rangehood product line and can retail between $739 and $1,099. Canopy rangehoods currently available include:

  • Westinghouse 90cm S/Steel and Flat Glass Canopy WRCG940SB
  • Westinghouse 90cm S/Steel and Curved Glass Canopy WRCG930SB

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and consider checking out the gentle giant that is the Westinghouse 90cm Canopy Rangehood. This wall-mounted rangehood uses what is described as a powerful twin blade centrifugal motor, a feature stated to provide ‘maximum extraction of unwanted steam and vapours from cooking’. Plus, the motor apparently operates more quietly than some models and can continue extracting odours and gases while maintaining a noise level range between 61dB and 71dB.

Households concerned about their energy bills may also be interested to know this supposed energy efficient Westinghouse canopy rangehood offers high illumination using ‘cost conscious low energy’, claiming to minimise the heat generated by the downlights to further save energy.

  • Maximum airflow: 850 m3/hr
  • Measurement (WxDxH): 898mm x 500mm x 600mm
  • RRP: $719*

Westinghouse 90cm Canopy Rangehood WRCG943SB

For households that have a little extra space to install a large wall-mounted rangehood, the Westinghouse 90cm Canopy Rangehood might be a suitable option to think about. This Westinghouse rangehood comes with many of the same features as many other models, such as the Power Twin Blade centrifugal motor and an automatic safety cut off feature. The Westinghouse WRCG943SB also comes with an easy-to-clean flat touch control panel and dishwasher safe aluminium filters for simple maintenance.

  • Maximum airflow: 780 m3/hr
  • Measurement (WxDxH): 900mm x 480mm x 600mm

It also has three removable aluminium micro-mesh filters that are dishwasher safe.

Are Westinghouse rangehoods worth the money?

Westinghouse serves a wide selection of rangehoods to suit different households, varying in size, styles and installation types. The different types of rangehoods include fixed, integrated under cupboard, slide-out and wall-mounted canopy. Retail prices generally start from $149, but can reach up to $1,099.

Many of the rangehoods available from Westinghouse can be used as a ducted rangehood. This is where the ducting is attached to a rangehood vent outlet and directs the extracted air from the kitchen to the outside of the home. But if it’s not possible to duct a rangehood because you don’t have an external vent or ducting, there are plenty of alternative models. Instead, non-ducted rangehoods extract the smoke and send it through the filters before recirculating the now clean air back into the room. Plus, there’s a number of rangehoods which allow for either method so you can choose how you want to install the appliance.
