Ikea shoppers are in for a treat with the Swedish furniture giant announcing a new plant-based version of its famous hot dog.

Dubbed the Plant Dog, this new offering is set to join the ranks of beloved Ikea treats in stores around the country.

To celebrate Plant Dog’s debut, Ikea’s new Plant Dog Truck will tour various locations in Sydney starting May 28. This special event offers free plant-based hot dogs at popular spots around Sydney, including Bondi Beach and Parramatta.

In addition, anyone who visits the food truck can participate in a competition to win a $200 Ikea voucher by providing feedback on the new menu item.

Free Plant Dogs and plant-based meatballs will also be available to Ikea Family Members at the Tempe and Marsden Park stores on select days.

If you’re not an Ikea Family Member but are keen to take advantage of the offer, you can sign up for free on the Ikea website. New members will also score a $10 welcome voucher.
