Free entertainment add ons have long been the arena of the bigger telcos. But with challenger brand Tangerine now offering free BINGE streaming subscriptions, Aussies looking for a great home internet plan with added extras, have more plans to choose from.
Andy Branson, Chief Executive Officer of Tangerine, suggests that with cost of living pressures, Aussies are looking to reduce costs by consolidating streaming services and by spending more time at home with the family.
“Our teams have worked hard to meet our customer feedback that kept highlighting to us that Australians love their chill time with the family and friends, and they don’t have time to figure out a complex system to be able to enjoy their time at home streaming their favourite shows – and we’re proud to have achieved hassle-free internet and streaming for them partnering with another Aussie success story in BINGE.”
New and returning BINGE customers will get their first three months of a standard BINGE subscription for free ($19 per month ongoing) when signing up to a Tangerine NBN plan. This offer is available on all of Tangerine’s range of NBN plans when you sign up by June 30, 2025. You’ll receive a BINGE activation code after signing up, which you’ll need to redeem by July 31, 2025. Terms apply.
What can you get on a Tangerine NBN plan?
While a three-month free BINGE standard subscription might be enough of an incentive to sign up to a Tangerine NBN plan for some, new Tangerine customers can also score discounts on NBN plan fees.
All of Tangerine’s NBN plans include discounts on plan fees for the first six months for new customers, with discounts ranging from $15 per month ($90 in total) up to $25 per month ($150 in total). Here is what you’ll save on Tangerine’s range of NBN plans.
- Value plan (NBN 25): $47.90 per month for the first six months, $67.90 per month ongoing
- Value Plus plan (NBN 50): $59.90 per month for the first six months, $82.90 per month ongoing
- Speedy plan (NBN 100/20): $65.90 per month for the first six months, $85.90 per month ongoing
- Speedy Plus plan (NBN 100/40): $74.90 per month for the first six months, $89.90 per month ongoing
- Super Speedy plan (NBN 250): $84.90 per month for the first six months, $104.90 per month ongoing
- Ultra Speedy plan (NBN 1000): $99.90 per month for the first six months, $124.90 per month ongoing
You can choose to either BYO modem or add a modem on to your NBN plan for an additional upfront cost. A home phone call pack is also available to add on for $10 extra per month.

If you’re also considering switching phone plans, customers can save 10% on their SIM-only mobile plan fees when bundling an active Tangerine postpaid phone plan and NBN plan on the same account.
For customers looking to switch NBN providers to find a better deal, Canstar Blue’s Utilities Editor, Tara Donnelly, suggests this latest offer from Tangerine could give enough incentive to make the switch.
“Since its launch, Tangerine has offered some seriously competitive NBN deals, targeted towards customers looking for a reliable low-cost plan. But the telco’s new BINGE offer gives new sign-ups some extra frills you’d normally only find from the big-name internet providers,” Ms Donnelly said.
“While it’s a limited-time offer — and only gives users three months of free streaming — it’s still a great incentive for customers looking for a reason to give Tangerine a try. Combined with Tangerine’s current six-month discount and the opportunity to bundle with mobile and save, the deal makes a good argument for Tangerine as a leader in the high-value NBN space.”

How do Tangerine’s NBN plans compare?
Tangerine’s discounted NBN prices make it one of the cheaper NBN providers when compared to the bigger providers and other challenger brands. Even its standard pricing without the discount is still fairly average when compared to other plans on the market.
While some providers, such as TPG and iiNet, are raising NBN prices, shopping around for a better deal can make a big difference to your household budget. It always helps to compare a wide range of NBN plans and providers to find the best plan that suits your needs and budget.
If you’re after entertainment add ons with your NBN plan, you’ll have less options to choose from. Optus offers subscription bundling with Optus SubHub, which allows you to save on streaming costs by bundling multiple services such as Netflix, BINGE, Paramount+ and Amazon Prime.
Telstra offers the option to add on Fetch, along with streaming services like Kayo, Disney+ and Spotify, while Vodafone offers the option to add on a Hubbl set top box to your plan. If you don’t need added entertainment extras, you’ll have a wider range of NBN plans to choose from.
