Australia’s third most popular smartphone provider, Motorola, has introduced two new devices to its premium phone lineup — the Edge 60 Pro, which joins the more affordable Edge 60 Fusion, and the latest addition to its iconic Razr series, the Razr 60.

Both phones are offered at the same $1,199 AUD RRP price point, so whether you want a flip phone or an ultra-thin premium device, the choice is yours.

Design and display

The Razr 60 features the iconic Motorola Razr flip design but in a more durable package with its titanium hinge, IP48 dust and water resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. You’ll get a big 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED main display, with Pantone Validated true-to-life colour accuracy and low blue light protection. When folded, there’s a 3.6-inch pOLED external display showing your essential apps and updates for easy access.

Once again, Motorola has partnered with Pantone for the device colours, with your choice between the deep blue Gibraltar Sea in a nylon-inspired finish or the blush Parfait Pink with leather-inspired finish.

Powering the Razr 60 is a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor, which features improved AI performance — compared to the previous generation processor — for smoother multitasking.

Motorola has also introduced Next Move as part of Moto AI, which pops up with suggestions based on what’s on your screen such as making a reservation when you’re browsing a restaurant menu or looking up flight times when you’re searching flights.

The Razr 60 also comes with a 4,500mAh battery, which Motorola touts as offering over a full day of battery life, along with up to 30W fast charging.

Cameras

The foldable capabilities of the Razr 60 are on show when it comes to capturing photos and videos. You can capture video by turning the phone camcorder-style or set the folded phone on a tabletop for hands-free photos and videos, with gestures or a smile prompting the phone to take a photo.

You’ll get a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main camera and 13MP ultra-wide and macro camera. While you can use these rear cameras to take selfies, you’ll still get a 32MP front-facing camera on the main display.

Design and display

If you’re looking for a premium phone with a sleek and ultra-thin design, the Motorola Edge 60 features a stunning quad curved body, thin borders and 6.7-inch Super HD display with peak brightness up to 4,500 nits. It’s also built for durability with a IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i along with military-standard certification (MIL-STD-810H) to protect against extreme temperatures, high humidity and high altitude conditions, along with drops up to 1.5 metres.

The Edge 60 Pro is available in two Pantone-curated colours with soft-touch finishes — the deep purple Sparkling Grape and soft green Shadow.

Powering the Edge 60 Pro is the AI-powered MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme processor with advanced thermal management. The device comes with Moto AI tools including Playlist Studio and Next Move, along with a range of other features to give you a smart personal assistant at your fingertips.

To keep up with your usage, there’s a big 6,000mAh battery, which has received the world’s highest score and a gold label from DXOMARK’s battery ranking, along with up to 90W fast charging.

Cameras

The triple rear-camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide and macro camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera, along with a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor and Pantone-validated colours and skin tones. You’ll also get a 50MP front-facing camera for all your selfie-taking needs.

There are also a range of AI-powered camera features like Action Shot for blur-free photos, even when the subject is in motion, along with Group Shot which captures multiple frames for group photos which blends together to ensure everyone in the shot has their eyes open.

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is available for $1,199 AUD RRP in Shadow and Sparkling Grape colours from retailers including JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, Amazon, Mobileciti and the Lenovo/Motorola online store. Keep in mind that the colour availability varies between retailers.
