Telstra Google Pixel 7 plans

You can buy Google Pixel phones from Telstra, with device payment plans of 12, 24, or 36 months, or the option to buy outright – you’ll just need to add a Telstra mobile plan at check-out.

Telstra’s postpaid plans include unlimited standard national talk and text in Australia, and unlimited speed-capped data (limited to 1.5Mbps) to use once your fast data allowance runs out. You’ll also have access to Telstra’s 5G network and Telstra’s rewards program.

Keep in mind that the Pixel 7 range or select storage options may no longer be available on a plan from Telstra.

Optus Google Pixel 7 plans

Optus offers the option to buy a Pixel phone on a plan over 12, 24 or 36 months, along with the option to buy your device outright. Once you’ve selected your preferred Pixel phone, colour, storage size and payment period, you’ll then need to bundle your phone with one of Optus’ postpaid phone plans.

All Optus postpaid plans come with unlimited standard national calls and SMS, along with access to the Optus 5G network. Optus doesn’t charge for excess data, so you can continue using data at the capped speed of 1.5Mbps once you’ve used up your monthly fast data allowance. Eligible Optus customers can also access Optus SubHub — a subscription bundling service where you can save on subscriptions like Optus Sport, Netflix and BINGE, when bundling multiple services.

Keep in mind that some Google Pixel 7 phones, colours or storage sizes may no longer be available from Optus. Other Google Pixel devices may be available on Optus plans.

Vodafone Google Pixel 7 plans

Vodafone offers customers a choice of 12, 24, or 36-month payment terms, although you won’t have the option to buy your phone outright on a Vodafone plan. Phones will need to be bundled with a postpaid phone plan.

All Vodafone plans include unlimited standard national talk and text in Australia, plus access to the company’s 5G network where available. There are also no excess data charges, so once you’ve used up your data inclusions, you can continue using unlimited speed-capped data limited to 2Mbps.

Stock of the Google Pixel 7 range may be limited from Vodafone. However other Google Pixel devices may be available.

Google Pixel 7 series features and specs

The Google Pixel 7 range includes the more budget-friendly Pixel 7a, the standard Pixel 7 and the upgraded Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 7a includes a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display, the Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display, while the Pixel 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display. All three phones include Google’s Tensor G2 processor.

If you’re on a budget, the Pixel 7a still delivers a lot for your money. Pixel 7a includes a dual rear camera setup with 64MP wide and 13MP ultra-wide cameras, along with a 13MP front-facing camera. There’s also a 4,300mAh battery, IP67 water resistance and 128GB of internal storage. The outright price at launch for the Pixel 7a is $749 AUD RRP.

The Pixel 7 offers a dual rear camera setup with 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide cameras, along with a 10.8MP front-facing camera. You’ll also get a 4,355mAh battery, IP68 water and dust resistance and the choice between 128GB or 256GB internal storage. The outright launch price of the 128GB Pixel 7 is $999 AUD RRP and $1,129 for the 256GB storage option.

At the top of the range is the Pixel 7 Pro, with a triple rear camera setup with 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide and 48MP telephoto cameras, while you’ll get the same 10.8MP front-facing camera included with the Pixel 7. There’s a bigger 5,000mAh battery along with IP68 water and dust resistance, plus your choice of 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage sizes. Should I buy my Pixel 7 on a plan or outright?

If you’re looking to pick up one of the Google Pixel 7 devices, you might have the option to buy it outright or on a plan. However, as these phones are older, you could struggle to find some phones and storage sizes as stocks may be limited from retailers and telcos (including Optus, Telstra and Vodafone).

While it may seem cheaper to buy your phone outright than on a plan, that’s mostly because you’re only paying for the phone itself. Buying on a plan requires you to bundle your device with one of your telco’s phone plans, which can be more expensive than plans available from smaller providers (also called MVNOs). However, you can compare Google Pixel 7 plans in the above table to find which option will best suit your budget.

Ultimately it’s about whether you have the budget to buy your phone outright or if you prefer to split your device payments over 12, 24 or 36 months. Also consider if you’re ok with being locked into a telco’s payment plan — and the phone plan you’ll bundle your device with.

Mobile Value Rank & Sort Order

The data in the table is updated within 24 hours of Canstar Blue becoming aware of a change. You can find a description of the initial sort order below the table. You can use the sort buttons at the top of each column to re-order the display. Learn more about our Mobile Value Rank Methodology

Our Value Rank compares a plan’s data allowance over a calendar month which is approximately 30.4 days regardless of a plan’s expiry period. When showing results filtered by data, a calendar month average will be used.

Please note that the Customer Satisfaction rating displayed in the table is a rating relating to customer overall satisfaction with the brand, and should not be confused with an individual product rating. Learn more about Mobile Customer Satisfaction ratings and for more information on how the Customer Satisfaction ratings are calculated, read the Canstar Blue Customer Satisfaction Ratings Methodology.

The ratings shown are only one factor to take into account when considering products. The results do not include all Mobile retailers or products in the market, and may not compare all features relevant to you. Canstar Blue does not supply mobile services. If you decide to apply for a particular Mobile product, you will deal directly with the mobile retailer, and not with Canstar Blue. Fees, charges, product information, costs,  and contract terms should be confirmed directly with the relevant mobile retailer.
