LG was one of the dishwasher brands in Canstar Blue’s latest rating for customer satisfaction. Here’s a brief rundown on LG dishwashers. And you can check the survey results here.
The story behind the name: What does ‘LG’ really stand for?
In 1947, Lak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp was founded by Koo In-Hwoii, but most people called the company ‘Lucky’. In 1958, Lucky united with a newly-established company, ‘Geumseong’ meaning ‘GoldStar’ in Korean. When it was renamed ‘LG Electronics’ in 1994, the LG stood for ‘Leokki Geumseong’ or ‘Lucky GoldStar’ after its Korean parent companies. Since 2004, however, the letters have stood for their most successful marketing slogan, ‘Life’s Good’.
LG Australia was established in 1997 and LG also has branches across Europe, North and South America, Asia and even Africa.
LG innovations in dish washing
2010: At IFA 2010, LG introduces TrueSteamTM technology that allows the dishwasher to steam clean dishes, removing the need to pre-rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. They also introduced their new and improved Inverter Direct Drive.
2015: LG received the USA EPA’s Energy Star Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence, honouring their efforts to lead the way in energy-efficient home appliances. They also won the Climate Communications Award for their efforts to raise consumers’ awareness about climate change.
