A brief history of the company
The Ford Motor Company has a long history in America and the rest of the world, dating back to the 1890s. This was when Henry Ford built his first vehicle, the Quadricycle – a motorized cab on bicycle wheels. From then his inventions in motoring became more powerful and more practical, with the Ford Motor Company being incorporated in 1903.
Ford experienced a lot of great success, with the Model A turning a profit of $37,000 in less than three months. Being able to produce quality cars at affordable prices for the middle class was Ford’s strong point, with the Model T becoming a symbol of affordability and durability in the early 1900s.
The company expanded internationally, while also being at the forefront of innovation. In 1917 they produced their first ever truck, and started building boats to aid the allies during The Great War in 1919.
Throughout history Ford has produced airplanes, army jeeps, and boats; but more importantly, they have made some iconic cars, and have been making motoring better for over 100 years.
