About Goodyear

Goodyear is a global tyre manufacturer and retailer, named after Charles Goodyear, the creator of vulcanised rubber. Goodyear was founded in 1898 with a total workforce of 13 people, producing bicycle and carriage tyres, as well as horseshoe pads and poker chips. By 1926 the company had become the world’s largest manufacturer of rubber goods.

Goodyear has been operating in Australia for one hundred years, having first established a distribution company in Sydney in 1915. The first Australian made Goodyear tyre was produced in 1929, with over a million being made by 1932.

Goodyear now operates over 135 different stores across the country, selling tyres for cars, four wheel drives, vans, trucks and agricultural vehicles. They also provide tyres for manufacturers for use on new vehicles.
