Attention football fans: if you can’t bear to miss a second of Premier League action, you now have just days to make the jump from Optus Sport to Stan.
Optus’ go-to platform for soccer streaming is shutting its digital doors on August 1. All Optus Sport football content will then move to Stan Sport, where it will be available to new and existing subscribers.
Football that will be exclusively streaming through Stan Sport in Australia from August 1 includes:
- English Premier League (EPL)
- Emirates FA Cup
- J League (Japan)
- National Women’s Soccer League (USA)
What should current Optus Sport customers do?
If you’re an Optus Sport user and you’re keen to keep your soccer content, you’ll need to make the move to Stan Sport. Optus previously confirmed it would be reaching out to impacted customers with specific information on sign-up and plan options, but in general all current Optus Sport customers will be able to grab an exclusive Stan Sport offer by making the switch.
Customers currently subscribed to Optus Sport for $9.99 per month will pay the same monthly price for EPL, FA Cup, J League and NWSL access through Stan, for the next three football seasons. Optus Sport users will also receive bonus access to Stan Premium and the full Stan Sport package at no extra cost, from August through to January 8, 2026.
After January 8, you can continue subscribing to Stan Premium and Stan Sport for an additional monthly cost, or cancel these add-ons and stick with your $9.99 football-only content.
Customers signed up to an annual Optus Sport plan will receive a pro-rated refund for any time left on their subscription after August 1. Annual subscribers can still move to the same $9.99 Stan Sport offer as customers on a monthly Optus Sport plan.
To access this deal and compare Stan Sport options, Optus Sport subscribers will need to use their current Optus-linked email to sign up to Stan. If you’re currently subscribed to Optus Sport via Optus SubHub, you can still sign up to Stan Sport separately using the same Optus-linked email address, but be aware you won’t be able to manage your Stan subscription through the SubHub platform.
For information specific to your current Optus/Optus Sport account, check for any emails or notifications directly from Optus, or contact the telco’s customer service team.

Optus Sport customers who already subscribe to Stan Sport won’t need to do anything — you’ll have automatic access to all your Optus Sport football content via Stan from August 1. If you have any concerns about your account, contact Optus or Stan support.
What else can I watch on Stan Sport?
Stan Sport is already the home of the UEFA Champions League, as well as some of the biggest sports events and leagues both in Australia and worldwide. Some of the additional sports you can watch via Stan Sport include:
