About LG washing machines

About LG refrigeratorsNobody really enjoys washing clothes (do they?) but if you have to do it, you may as well be happy with the washing machine you have chosen. In Canstar Blue’s 2015 washing machine customer satisfaction survey, LG scored a solid 4 stars for overall satisfaction.

As well as washing machines, LG manufactures TVs, mobile phones, audio systems, DVD and Blu-ray players, fridges, computers, tablets, and air conditioners, as well as many accessories to go with these products.

A brief history of the company

Originally founded as GoldStar, the company (which we now know as LG) has been in the electronics business since 1958, and has been striving to lead the way in technology since then.

Much of their early history is based in Korea, where they achieved a great deal, producing the first radios, automatic telephones, black and white TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners in the country.

They continued making these electronics for decades, and unveiled their biggest innovation in 1998. Quite literally their biggest, LG launched the world’s first 60-inch plasma TV.

They continued making washing machines during this time, but their major innovation came in 2011, when they exclusively introduced the 6 motion direct drive. This was a major breakthrough in washing machines, as it provided the best cleaning performance yet.

What our survey respondents say…

Earlier in 2015 Canstar Blue surveyed 1,248 people who had bought a new washing machine in the last three years. These are some of the comments, among others, made by survey respondents who had purchased an LG top-loading washing machine.

I like the products they offer and I have not had anything go wrong with any of their products that I have ever purchased Can’t program in to stop wash cycle at a particular point
This is a great washer, no more powder burns on clothes. It doesn’t have an agitator and the clothes get really tangled up
Love the touch button. Sleek design with large wash tub. Decent price for the quality. Love it has a “Quiet” button. It’s too deep, I have to get on tippy toes and bend right over to reach inside the bowel.
It works great and with the two filter bags easily  removes the pet hair from our clothes Takes too long to do a normal wash.
Easy to use. Quick, excellent results and good price. Sorry I bought one with a computer in it,  it will cost more to repair.
They have a wide variety of machines that come in all sizes. Too much lint
