A brief history of the company

Starting out in 1938 as a small food export business in Korea, Samsung has evolved to become one of the biggest electronics companies in the world and has a wide profile of products.

After food exporting, Samsung moved into the insurance business in the 50s, and then into amusement park operations in the 60s, before finally developing electronics in the 1970s.

Through the 1990s, Samsung boomed, despite challenges that faced high-tech companies. They even survived the 1997 recession that effected many Korean businesses. This can be attributed to their decision to dedicate themselves to making world-class products and prioritise quality and customer satisfaction.

They have responded to the digital age by developing advanced technologies, and putting them into the products that so many Australians love to use.

What our survey respondents say…

Earlier in 2015 Canstar Blue surveyed 1,248 people who had bought a new washing machine in the last three years. These are some of the comments, among others, made by survey respondents who had purchased a Samsung top-loading washing machine.

My first Samsung washing machine lasted me 13 years, and it is still going strong. But we bought a new one all the same. Even though it has a filter it still sometimes leaves lint
Great price, easy to use, water saving and good looking Some features require technical modifications,
Brilliant quality and great service(under warranty I wish I could be a little more precise about when it uses warm and cold washes. I don’t like how the delicate cycle forces me to do a warm wash.
Energy efficient, attractive models, reliable, quality at an affordable price Hard to interrupt cycles
It washes well hot water, warm water or cold water, can also adjust to time of washing – quick wash cycle and long wash cycle. Not all the controls are on the instruction booklet and I can’t find out what one light means
Love all their products from washing machines to computer technology, TVs. Etc. Wished I had bought the bigger size one.
