We know you want the best in the kitchen, and Australia’s vote is in. Miele is the 2015 winner of Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers – Ovens award. You can check out the survey results here.
The people behind the name
In 1899, engineer Carl Miele and businessman Reinhard Zinkann founded a company for the manufacture of cream separators in Germany. Their guiding principle became a strong business philosophy: “immer besser”, which means “better and better”.
Beginning with only four lathes and one drilling machine, they soon grew. Miele now has branches across Australia, Europe, North and South America, Asia and even Africa.
When Miele started producing ovens
In 1943, stoves and feed cookers were urgently needed by the German food industry, so Miele stepped up their production of these basic level ovens.
Some of Miele’s oven innovations
1974: Miele begins selling built-in ranges and ovens. It also begins constructing entire kitchen units, so that for the first time, the kitchen and its appliances are designed to complement each other.
1989: New built-in ovens are created that have microwaves included.
1993: Induction hob stovetops are created to generate heat directly in the pan with lightning speed, resulting in shorter cooking times and optimal control.
2007: Miele introduces their new MoisturePlus technology, which combine a fan heater and moisture to keep roasts succulent and bake bread with a fine crust.
2012: Miele’s new FlexTouch induction hob means cookware can be placed anywhere on the ceramic screen.
