Energy Locals offers new customers $1,000-plus in entertainment discounts

Fact Checked Fact Checked

Renewables-focused energy provider Energy Locals has launched a new electricity plan that it says will help customers save $1,000 or more on entertainment every year.

The Local Rewards version of Energy Locals’ Online Member electricity plan comes with a free, 12-month membership to Entertainment, which is worth $69.99 and offers discounts on dining, attractions and shopping. According to Entertainment, the average yearly saving made by its 120,000 members is more than $1,000 a year.

Adrian Merrick, founder of Energy Locals, said the offer was about lightening customers’ load at a time of high costs of living. “Our new plan is all about giving more to our customers without asking for more in return,” he said.

Who can get the free Entertainment membership?

New Energy Locals customers in Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Tasmania who sign up for a Online Member – Local Rewards plan are eligible to receive an Entertainment membership for discounts in a single city.
