Miele is a German company which designs and manufactures a massive range of domestic appliances to suit the needs of every family. Founded by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann way back in 1899, the company now has a turnover of over €3 billion and employs 17,660 people worldwide, with over 10,000 of those people working in Germany. Miele started off manufacturing cream separators and began with just eleven employees; within a decade the company had adapted their technology to begin building domestic washing machines, and in the 1930s the company brought out its first vacuum cleaner. Miele continued to expand in the 70s and 80s into kitchen appliances and other devices, but its vacuum range remains one of its strong suits.
Miele’s vacuum cleaner range consists of cylinder barrel models, upright vacuums and even robotic vacuum cleaners. Most of Miele’s vacuum cleaners are bag-based models, with compact designs and a large range of accessories. Miele also fit their vacuums with AirClean filters, which filter the exhaust air for fine particulate matter to leave it even cleaner than the surrounding room air.

1955: The new Miele vacuum cleaner, called President S, is created to tackle the current trend for having more carpeting in the home. But thanks to a thread catcher and an adjustable bristle strip, it is also suitable for more than just carpet. President S has a new three-way nozzle and a modern plastic casing.
1971: Miele gives the vacuum cleaner a revolutionary facelift with high suction power that is electronically-controlled.
2004: New light and manoeuvrable vacuums, including cordless models, make Miele even more popular.
